Am about 3/4 of the way thru "Kings" in The Bibles Old Testament as part of the fourth time I have read The Bible through. Boring....Like some of the chapters of The Bible, repetitious YET designed to "snap the reader in" to what took place 5,000 years ago...Some time huh?In the "Corps" we were TAUGHT to tell it like it is, boring or as I have had it happen, truth; "Sarge," here is the Field Jacket you loaned to Sgt. Jackson this morning." - When I saw it;
Covered with the blood of my friend in arms, a few shrapnel holes; but he saved the lives of three recruits by knocking them into a ditch to avoid what HE GOT, a direct hit from a 75mm recoiless rifle "dug in" by the North Koreans. No, Jackson wasn't written up for anything more than a Purple heart. Just short of sixty years ago we were also taught not to complain....If you are around and remember this incident, you have my PRAYERS!
The Bible tells of many such stories, REMEMBER THAT as you fulfill the "NORMAL" yearly resolution, READ THE HOLY BIBLE IN ONE YEAR. I took ony a few sentences to tell about Sergeant Jackson. IMAGINE how BIG The Bible would be if EVERY such detail of the Hebrew/Jew were told!
THUS; we have SHORTENED sentences, details of seaming boredom, WHEN IN FACT the DETAILS were just shortened.
READ THE BOOK OF DAVID, (REMEMBER, HE SLEW THE PHILISTINE GIANT WITH A SLING AND SMOOTH ROCK.) His history is found in MANY places in our Holy Bible! He was just a young kid at the time!
SO, if reading The Bible gets boring, use "Google" or Microsoft's "Bing" to look up David, (Be sure and reference the Bible in your search!) As long as you are at "it" read the chapter on Isaiah.
Yep, TheBible is NO PLACE TO GET BORED READING!!

If you get bored reading a chapter mix it up a bit, 'cause this book can be pretty GRAPHIC, exciting and WILL MAKE YOU WANT TO COME BACK TO THOSE BORING CHAPTERS AND READ THEM TOO!
